Winter Wonderland Celebration

Women United is thrilled to share the heartwarming highlights from our Winter Wonderland event! ❄️️️✨

This year, we teamed up with incredible organizations like Catholic Community Services, Intercultural Family Services, Encompass, Neighborhood House, Atlantic Street, and the Renton School District Elementary Schools. Together, we registered a total of 47 families and 75 children! 🤝 But the love didn’t stop there – an additional 32 children were referred by Toy for Tots, King County Shelters, and individuals seeking assistance with gifts.

Thanks to the Safeway Wish List, 42 children received the gifts they’d wished for, all beautifully wrapped and tagged. 🎁 Our Angel of Hope Engagement Center was transformed into a magical wonderland, with blue and silver Christmas decorations everywhere you looked. 🎄✨ We even had an inflatable gift arch at the entrance!

And what’s a winter wonderland without delicious treats? Our families enjoyed Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows, Hot Spiced Apple Cider, Homemade chili with crackers, and Chilidogs with assorted toppings. 🍫☕️️️🌭

But the real magic happened when Mr. Eric Pettigrew, the former 37th District State Representative, stepped into the role of Santa Claus 🎅, and our wonderful Kinship caregiver Betty Campbell became Ms. Claus. Children had the joy of selecting books donated by the Seattle Public Library-Rainier Beach Branch and art kits to keep them entertained.

The excitement in the children’s eyes as they met Santa and made special requests was simply heartwarming! 📚🖌️ Names were announced, and families gathered their large bags of gifts. 🎉

We are immensely grateful to all our dedicated volunteers who decorated, donated, and served our Kinship and community families. 🙏💕

As we step into 2024, Women United is eager to continue serving and working with our incredible community.

🌟 Happy New Year to all, and here’s to a year filled with compassion, unity, and joy! 🎉🎆 #CommunityLove #NewBeginnings #WinterWonderland2024
